Thursday 8/19
Finish up Grade #1. Again review expectations. Allow students time for corrections in class. Introduce first unit of study – Life Science.
Friday 8/20
Begin LIFE SCIENCE and Ecosystem interactions. Utilizing (weather permitting) Nature Center, students observe the local ecosystem using Activity 2: Observing an Ecosystem / Unit 23 Vocabulary Builder. (Grade 2). Students describe, illustrate, record data about interactions between living / nonliving parts of a forest ecosystem.
REMEMBER – Life Science is everywhere. Here in East Texas, we are blessed with a deciduous forest ecosystem that has a lotta life to observe. It’s right in your own backyard. Remind your student that the best study of what we are doing is outside.
