Weather observations continue. Stress weather as an important NONLIVING part of ecosystems. Google Classroom activity: Nonliving Weather Changes and Ecosystem Interactions. Discuss inherited traits that are structural – (possible spinner activity). Introduce / begin lab activity: Comparative Investigations-Webbed Feet, Structures, & Functions. Model (lab groups) structures on organisms such as webbed feet (hand in baggie), food pick – up, (sticks, spoons, balls, kernels). Large metal spoons for water ecosystems like ponds and lakes.

Bean plant observations continue. Continue lab experiment / observations – Comparative Investigations – Webbed Feet, Structures, & Functions. Talk about reasonable / unreasonable inherited structures on organisms that may /may not allow them to survive in an ecosystem. (solid white bunny fur vs brownish; feathers on a lion??) Intro. Grade #4: Unit 30: Characteristics.
