Monday

Weather observations

Finish up Physical Science Concepts.

Introduce Earth Science:  Our Neighborhood in the Universe – The Solar System.  Order of planets:  My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nachos.  Investigate physical characteristics of each planet.  Begin Sun/Earth/Moon comparison.  look at these three objects, interactions,  movements as a system,  having impact on Earth.

Weather observations

Continue Solar System explorations, Sun / Earth / Moon comparisons & investigations: composition,  movement,  size of each,  and implications for life on Earth.

Wednesday

½ day.   Grade level Science Activity.  Scientific Scavenger Hunt.  Students use knowledge of Science concepts to answer questions posted in various classrooms throughout the 5th Grade hallway.

Thursday

Weather Observations

Grade #4  Unit 15: Earth, Moon, Sun.  Introduce the Day/Night Cycle and Earth’s rotation. RAD.  Compare to Revolution/orbit of Earth around Sun. ROY

Friday

Earth’s Movements – day/night cycle study continues.  What would happen if Earth stopped rotating?   What about shadows?  Intro lab activity which models rotation of Earth.
