5th Grade Science Agenda – November 30th – December 4th, 2021

Monday

The  American Century:  1900 – 1920.  With an emphasis on Science & Discovery,  students study events,  inventions and the resulting reliance on electric energy and fossil fuels as they are needed for new ideas and products.

Tuesday

5th Grade Field Trip to East Texas Oil Museum – Kilgore,  Texas.

Wednesday

The American Century study continues:  1920s – 1940s;  Continue studying progression of American Society as it relates to Science and Scientific Method – The Great War,  Stock Market Crash 1929,  Great Depression,  Dust Bowl (Life Science & Ecosystems),  FM radio,  television New London School explosion,  European unrest,  Empire State Building,  new inventions and products.

Thursday

The American Century study continues:  1920s – 1940s.  Continue Wednesday’s study and begin examining causes of the United States Entry into World War II.

Friday

Grade 8: The American Century Part I.  Students show comprehension of concepts taught thus far in The American Century.  Examine WWII.   

Resources: 10 item grade 8,  SS books pages 554 – 569.
