5th Grade Science Agenda: February 14th-18th, 2022

Monday

Classes shortened.  Weather Observations recorded.   5th Grade Valentine Party in the afternoon.

Tuesday

5th Grade Career Day – Mrs. McClanahan (School Counselor),  speaks to students during 5th Grade Science about future jobs / careers.

Wednesday

1/2 Day Early Release.  5th Graders complete a grade level Science activity.  Students fill in answer / task document as they go into various classrooms and complete Science – based tasks such as charades,  songs,  riddles,  STAAR questions,  rap and rhyme.

Thursday

Students research the effects of WATER,  wind,  ice,  and human activity on Earth’s surface.  Weather permitting – Outdoor observations /  investigations.  In case of inclement weather,  begin Forces that Change Earth’s Surface and Create Landforms:  Mississippi River Delta,  East Texas Rolling Hills,  Oklahoma/California Sand Dunes,  Texas/Arizona Canyons.   STATION 5:  Students work on outdoor erosion / deposition sketchings / drawings.  Fully color & label.        Resources:  Lab supplies / models,  M Minds 19/20  &  20/21  pgs. 89-96,  M Minds 17/18 pgs. 132 – 138.

Friday

Weather Observations

Grade #7:  Unit 12:  Landforms.   M Minds 17/18 pages 132 – 138.

Students work on sketchings from outdoor observations last week.  Fully color and label.
